Stage 1 of the Science Library is now open.

The Science Library brings together all of the Science related collections previously housed in other parts of the Library’s collection.

Stage 1 offers a range of collaborative, quiet and silent study areas.  It has 240 purpose-built reader places with access to power and data; 120 new computers; six sound-proof group study rooms and spaces designed specifically for postgraduate students and parents’ studying at UWA.

Stage 2 is expected to be completed in December 2009.  It will include a cafe, 7 additional group study rooms, 4 rooms equipped with specialist multimedia software, an access grid classroom and more individual study spaces and 100 additional computers

Tours of the new Science Library are available at 11am and 2pm daily during the first weeks of Semester 2.  No need to sign up – just turn up in the foyer of the Library.
