This news item contains important information about a change which affects all UWA staff, students and visitors.
What is the change?
From 14 July 2008 all UWA Library users will require their UWA Person ID (staff, student or visitor number) and their Pheme password to access Library systems and services. (Previously, users required their UWA Person ID and their Campus Card Barcode Number.)

What do you need to do?
Ensure you have a Pheme password before July 14th 2008 to minimise the disruption caused by this change. Pheme support is available at:

- Pheme allows users to reset a forgotten password so you should never be without access to important systems.
Why is this happening?
With this change UWA is aiming to provide access to ALL systems across the University (Library systems, Callista, WebCT, Lectopia and others) with ONE password, your Pheme password. We call this ‘Single Sign-On’ and it’s managed by UWA IT Services.
An advantage of using the Pheme password is that access to the Library’s online services is no longer tied to new users collecting their Campus Card. Similarly, if your Campus Card is lost and renewed and the barcode changes, your access continues without change.
Extra information:
Once logged into any one of these applications with your Pheme password you can browse to and access another application without needing to log in again. If you close down your Web browser the session is ended and you will need to log in again. The log in page will link to information on activating Pheme accounts and where to seek help. The addresses (URLs) used to access our Library applications will not change, and existing links will not need to be updated. Sessions will end after 30 minutes of inactivity.
