Services provided

If an item is held in the UWA Library in Perth but not in the UWA Collections at Albany, you can request that the Library send you the item or a photocopy of the item. We can send you books, audiovisual items, photocopies of journal articles and photocopies of chapters of books.

This service is available to continuing education students, as well as undergraduates.

Requesting material

You must complete a Get It request form to request material from the UWA Library in Perth.

Loans

You can borrow 30 items at one time from the UWA Library in Perth. (Photocopies are not counted as items on loan.) The loan period for items is six weeks. Items can be renewed twice if they are not overdue or requested by another borrower. Reserve and 3 Day Loan items are not borrowable, unless borrowed in person.

Contact your Subject Library  to renew items. You may be able to renew loans yourself twice from the Check or renew your loans section of the Library Web site.

The items you request from the UWA Library in Perth will be delivered to the Albany Centre. Books and other items must be returned by the due date. You can return items to the Albany Centre, and staff will ensure that they are sent to the Library.

Photocopies

All requests for photocopies must comply with the Australian Copyright Act. It allows one chapter or 10% of a book, and journal articles to be copied.  You do not need to return photocopies to the Library.
