Services provided

If an item is held in the UWA Library in Perth but not in the UWA Collections at Albany, you can request that the Library send you the item or a photocopy of the item. We can send you books, audiovisual items, photocopies of journal articles and photocopies of chapters of books.

If an item is not held in the UWA Library it may be possible to obtain it through the Library's document delivery service, Get It.  You can request books and audiovisual items not held in the UWA Library, as well as photocopies of journal articles and photocopies of chapters in books.

Requesting material

You must complete a Get It request form to request material from the UWA Library in Perth or to make an interlibrary loan request.

Loans

You can borrow unlimited items from the UWA Library in Perth. The loan period for items is a semester. Items can be renewed twice if they are not overdue or requested by another borrower. Reserve and 3 Day Loan items are not borrowable, unless borrowed in person.

The items you request will be delivered to the Albany Centre. Books and other items must be returned by the due date. You can return items to the Albany Centre, and the staff will ensure that they are sent to the Library.

Items from the UWA Library can be renewed twice if they are not overdue or requested by another borrower.

Contact your Subject Library  to renew items. You may be able to renew loans yourself twice from the My Library Loans page.

Interlibrary loan items cannot be renewed and must be returned to the UWA Library by the due date.

Copies

All requests for copies must comply with the Australian Copyright Act. It allows one chapter or 10% of a book, and journal articles to be copied. In most cases the article/chapter will be delivered to you as a PDF through Get It.
