Introduction
Your lecturer may specify recommended reading material for your Unit. This material may consist of books, book chapters, journal articles, selected cases and legislation, or Government reports. Course Materials Online (CMO) is a consolidated reading list of your unit’s recommended readings. The CMO service brings together all these disparate resources into a single environment by linking to and where possible digitising materials in a format which you can then access online.
How does Course Materials Online benefit you?
24/7
Digitised reading material is available to you 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and won't "go missing" just before important assignments are due.
Remote access
Access these documents from campus, home or work.
It's free!
You can use the material online, without the need to photocopy or print to paper.
Keep it clean
Documents won't get torn, scribbled on, or dog-eared as Semester progresses.
Sharing
A single document can be accessed by many students at once. No waiting for returns!
Colour
Documents are digitised in colour where appropriate. So you see a real copy, rather than facsimilie.
Are all my reading materials available online?
Unfortunately, no. Although the citation will appear in CMO list, you may not have full text online access. Some reading materials will be located in the Library's physical Reserve Collection. These items include books, audiovisual materials, and some photocopies. Because they are in high demand, these items are housed separately to the main collection, and have limited borrowing times.
What do I need to access CMO?
Most documents linked to from CMO will be either web pages or PDF documents. If you do not have Adobe's Acrobat Reader installed on your home or work computer, visit the Downloading software viewers help page for instructions.
PDF documents will best be viewed using Adobe Reader version 6 or higher.
