Forwarding your student email

Further information

  • Pheme

Many students have personal email addresses.

The University Student Email Service provides the ability for students to forward their email to another email address.

The University does not recommend that you forward your student email. While this is convenient, it introduces the risk that your email may be received intermittently or not at all by your personal email address. When this occurs, the University is unable to assist you in retrieving the messages.

Therefore if you do need to forward your student email, we strongly recommend that you leave the option 'and keep UWA Mail's copy in the inbox' selected, as this will prevent you from permanently losing messages.

If you do forward your email,  the University cannot accept responsibility if you do not receive messages forwarded to another email address, or for messages that are lost due to forwarding your email and choosing not to leave a copy on the student email system.

Emails not received

If you've forwarded your student email to another address but haven't received it, this is generally because either:

  1. The emails are being tagged as spam, make sure to check your spam folder and white-list your UWA email, or
  2. Your destination email address is dropping (deleting without notification to you or the sender of the message) your student email.

The University takes no responsibility for messages missed or lost because of the behavior of third party email servers.
