Messages dated November 2009

Further information

  • Pheme

If you are using Mail on the iPhone to read your student email, you may find that all your messages are dated November 2009.

This occurs because occasionally, when using a Mail-based client (such as Apple Mail, or Mail on the iPhone), messages can be organised by the wrong piece of information.

These applications will occasionally sort based on the time the message was last updated, rather than the time it was sent or received.

For old messages this will be November 2009, the month UWA started migrating your mail to the new system.

There are two reported fixes to this problem :

  1. Delete and re-add the account to Mail. Be careful - if you are using POP, you may lose mail if you do this. Make sure to Export your mail first.
  2. Change the timezone on your iPhone. Reportedly, changing the timezone to any other timezone and then back will fix the problem.
