Printing to the wireless network

Introduction

Printing from SNAP is now available on certain UWA Library printers. In order to use this functionality you will need to add the printer you want to use to your wireless device. In addition, you will need to be connected to either the UWA SNAP wireless network or the "SNAP Wired" jacks. Please note that pages printed will need to be paid for using the corresponding print stations in each library.

We are using the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) standard for wireless printing. It provides the security and authentication needed without Windows file sharing (SMB) issues. It also supports multiple platforms very easily.

How to add a printer

When printing to the Library printers you are required to go to a print station in the Library and pay for the print using your Campus Card. The print job will appear on the print station screen under the username of "LIB-VSR-C01", however the document name will remain from your document. It is recommended that you make sure your document is saved with a name you can recognise before attempting to print. It may be difficult to recognise your print job if you don't save prior to printing.
