How to connect to full text of electronic journals

Library home > This page

Links to the full text of all UWA's electronic journals are provided in the UWA Library catalogue. Choose the title option and type in the title of the journal you need. The shelf number will be displayed if the journal is available in a print version, and a "connect to" hotlink will be visible in the middle of the screen if there is an electronic version.

The Library arranges payment and agrees to licence conditions for its electronic journals. Connecting via the UWA Library catalogue will give you seamless access, as the vendor will recognise that a connection is being made from UWA. If you connect directly to the journal's web site, (without going through the catalogue), you may be asked for payment, or to provide a login and password.

UWA staff and students have access to subscribed resources from computers all over the world using your UWA ID (staff or student) number and your Pheme password. This information will be used to verify that you are a current UWA staff member or student in order to grant access to this service.

Many popular database services including EbscoHOST, Factiva, Ovid, ProQuest 5000, and WebSPIRS can be accessed from your home or office. Large online journal collections such as ScienceDirect, JSTOR and Kluwer Online are also available via authentication. UWA examination papers are also available for remote access.
