SciFinder Scholar is the search interface for Chemical Abstracts, CASREACT, and the Registry database from the Chemical Abstracts Service.
Access
- Access is available from Library computers in all Subject Libraries. You will need to log on as a UWA staff member or student.
- SciFinder Scholar is not available to community members, reciprocal borrowers, or members of the public.
- Access from a personal computer on the UWA campus is also available to UWA staff and students. This requires the installation of SciFinder software.
- It is not possible to access SciFinder Scholar remotely unless you have a VPN set up. Please consult your School's IT support for more information on VPN.
Downloading SciFinder Scholar 2007 for PC users
- Go to the Library's FTP site and download SFS2007.exe and site.prf from the Windows folder to your desktop.
- Run the .exe to install the program.

Downloading SciFinder Scholar for Mac OSX users
- Go to the Library's FTP site and download sfs2007-osx.dmg and site.prf from the Mac folder to your desktop.
- Run the .dmg to install the program.
- You will need to place the site.prf in the following location: (Hard drive)/Library/Application Support/SciFinder Scholar/site.prf

Downloading SciFinder Scholar for other Mac users
- Go to the Library's FTP site and download SciFinder Scholar.sit and site.prf from the Mac folder to your desktop.
