When to search by author/title
An author-title search enables you to limit an author search by words in the title, at the start of your search. For example, if you wish to retrieve only the titles by Mozart that contain the word "zauberflote". This process retrieves the same records as would be retrieved in the two-step process of performing an author search and then limiting by words in the title.
Use this search if you:
- know the name of an author and one or more words from the title of a work (but not its exact title)
- wish to search for titles by an author who has produced many works
How to search by author/title
Enter an author, with the surname first
Enter all or part of the title.
It does not matter in what order you enter the words of the title. You can therefore use this search even if you are unsure of the exact word order of the title.
When you search by author-title, the system performs the author search first, and then limits the records retrieved to those with titles containing the words you’ve entered in your search.
