There are a number of online guides to using EndNote X1.
The EndNote site itself has video tutorials on What's new in EndNoteX1 and EndNote X1 Basics available for both Windows and Macintosh.
A number of libraries at Australian universities have developed excellent tutorials and other EndNote resources and made these freely available on the Web. These include the University of Queensland's Introductory Tutorial to EndNote X1 and the University of Newcastle Library's EndNote Tutorial. (This last refers to EndNote X but is still a very useful introduction to using EndNote).
A clear and detailed EndNote X1 manual is searchable by index or contents from the Help menu within the EndNote program or can be downloaded as a PDF file. (Please note the large file size).
