The Library's feedback process
The Library values your feedback in assessing the quality of our services and to ensure we are continuously improving. We encourage your feedback through "Suggestions to the Library" and we actively seek it through client surveys.
Suggestions to the Library
If you have any suggestions on how we can improve our services please email our Ask a Question service, complete the Suggestions to the Library form (available in all subject libraries) or contact your Subject Librarian.
We also welcome suggestions from UWA students for new titles to be added to the Library collection. UWA academic staff may submit recommendations for purchase of items for the Library by using the online order form.
Client surveys
LibQUAL+TM Survey
For the first time in 2005 The Library surveyed its clients using the electronic LibQUAL+™ Survey to enable us to assess the quality of our services and identify areas for improvement. This survey is widely used at universities around the world and it:
- allows us better to understand how the UWA community rates its library services
- allows us to benchmark UWA results against other libraries to determine best practices
- lets us know where we can concentrate service improvements
The Library has recently repeated this survey in 2007 and both the 2005 and 2007 results are available:
Law Refurbishment Survey 2006
Following the completion of the Beasley Law Library refurbishment in 2006 an online survey was conducted asking for feedback from all law students and academic staff. The survey canvassed a number of issues including general feelings about the refurbishment, access to computers and laptop facilities, availability of study spaces and ease of access to collections.
A report of 2006 survey results [PDF; 221.3K] indicates an overwhelmingly positive response to the refurbishment and improved facilities. There were also a number of suggestions for further improvements to the Law Library which the Library is currently acting on - the status of this is detailed within the report.
Buildings and Space Survey
This survey was first conducted in 2007 and will be carried out annually to allow us to determine how students and staff are using Library spaces and their requirements. What you told us in the 2007 Survey will be used to formulate a plan to better utilise the physical space in each of our libraries and to address any gaps that may exist in service requirements.
